I’ve been trying to come up with a mental list of my favorite liveries and there are just too many badass ones to think of.
So I figured Oppo can help share their favorites. Even if I post one you like, you should share as well. I always like seeing it on other vehicles as well.
Here go some favorites off the top of my head:
John Player Special
Gulf
Martini
Jagermeister
The Hippie
Epic old-school Apple livery
That’s what I’ve been thinking about - my porsche bias may be showing as well.
Show me what you got!

Not a fan of the Pink Pig?
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:07 |

I was ready to post the pink pig but figured I should cut it there haha.
Pink pig is probably the best ‘fuck it, let’s do it’ livery ever.

My favorite is John Player Special, but Red Bull is kinda cool.

Gotta say I’m quite impressed with how far Red Bull has come. And yes, really cool liveries

Jaccs accord.

Some good ones mentioned already, here’s some more; Marlboro
Flying Lizard
Rothmans

|
And of course, how could I forget: Falken Tire
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:23 |
|
Yes for everything. Special shout-out to Jake.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:24 |
|
Yesssssssss. I definitely should have had Rothmans closer to the top.

I really want that vintage Apple livery on my Macbook. It’s just so good.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:30 |
|
Heck yeah. M colors will always look good. That Sunoco 917 is near the top of my all-time favorite race-cars.
Hot Wheels? Always a winner.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:32 |
|
It really is. Some of those cheesy 80's logos would look great on modern cars.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:33 |
|
I think Falken looks great on everything....
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:35 |

I love the vintage Toyota and all the BMW art cars.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:39 |
|
Nice. I’d like to see their LMP1 car in that. Would look amazing.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:42 |

I really liked Ryan Tureck’s 2015 livery. Sort of a throwback to the original Toyota.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:45 |

Alitalia Stratos:
Ivan Stewart’s Toyota trophy truck:
Colin McRae’s Subaru Impreza:
Just a few of my favorites.

rallye ftw.
I’ll throw in the Kamaz with red bull livery
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:50 |

Jeff Gordon DuPont is my favourite

This grew on me quite a lot:
Also:
And:
And let’s not forget the basics:
And the subtle but awesome:
That is all. I’ll be in my bunk.

I am not very familiar with the NASCAR liveries, but I’m going to add Richard Petty’s Superbird as well
![]() 08/14/2016 at 18:56 |

Man F1 had some amazing stuff in that era...
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:00 |

I think they had so many sponsors they just didn’t care about colors clashing, so sometimes it turned out awesome. I mean, the 7up and Leyton House ones should not work, but they do!
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:00 |

Jordan
Arrows
Lotus. That yellow exhaust
Jeff Gordon
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:03 |

Iconic racing car as well as a simple but effective paint scheme
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:04 |

There is the often overlooked Subaru livery of the early ‘90s:
Though, I am a big fan of the more modern WRC livery:
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:07 |

None of his later liveries ever compared.

I guess I’m a JDM fanboy today

That subaru blue truly is iconic.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:30 |

I’d say JDM liveries are a-ok!
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:39 |

Nice! Talk about obscure.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 19:51 |

BASF
Opel GT Grp4 Conrero
1978 San Marino Pirelli Stratos

How’s this?
![]() 08/14/2016 at 20:10 |

Nice. These are the obscure liveries that I like to see.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 20:12 |
|
Pretty great haha. I’m guessing you took that picture yourself? I see a lot of great Lotus in that photograph.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 20:15 |

Yeah. Barber motorsports park museum in Birmingham. Lots of cool old lotus stuff. And lots of cool old bikes.
![]() 08/14/2016 at 21:01 |

Mercedes’ Sonax on their 190e DTM was rather nice...
Peugeot’s 205 T16 is an icon in the classic Shell stripes.
And you can never forget the two-wheeling 850 wagon wonder in blue/white Securicor/Omega livery
![]() 08/14/2016 at 21:03 |

Only one IndyCar so far. =o(
My all time favorite:

My favorite of all time!

Furniture Row Racing (both from this year, the Auto-Owners one is new for 2016)
Calsonic Skyline
Yellow Hat GT-R (which has a big, black #3 on the roof, possibly a tribute to the Corvette C5-Rs that ran (and won) the 2001 Rolex 24 at Daytona?)
Piedmont Airlines (I always personally preferred the Hagan Racing #44 livery over the RCR #3 livery.)
Nissan actually had TWO throwback Altimas, but this was the best one.
Just about anything Team Cadillac.
Kinetic Motorsports’ latest Forte Koup racers, especially the silver/green.
Anything Polestar Racing.
Red Pig, ‘nuff said.
Turner Motorsport
The Idemitsu Motion Civic.
Snake and Mongoose
Whelen Engineering has alway had great paint schemes, and this years schemes for both RCR and Action Express are some of the best to date.

So much good stuff in here. Love it.
![]() 08/15/2016 at 00:48 |

As if my user name doesn’t give it away! Haha! I’m a fan of old school paint schemes from the late 60's to early 90’s. Really anything before vinyl wraps took over racing.

That reminds me, I need one of these in my collection someday:

I’ve always like the Yamaha YZR500. It had many great liverys over it’s 30 year life (1973-2002). It had 28 generations.
1973:
1978:
1983:
1988:
1993:
1998:
2002:

Jägermeister looks specially good on Alfas
Also, cigarrete liveries are the best liveries
And... 1997 Tyrrell with Xena the Warrior Princess

You should head over to http://liveandletdiecast.kinja.com/ when you do so you can show it off ;)
We kinda like that sorta thing over there.
![]() 08/15/2016 at 20:24 |

Talking about cigarettes but no marlboro? As a Brazilian I think Senna might be disappointed ;)
Also Lucky Strike.
That Xena livery is amazing. What a time haha.

Very nice. Yamaha really has had great stuff over the years.
I didn’t even think about motorcycles. I’m a Ducati guy so I’ll add this:
I wish I knew more old-school liveries to add to the 2-wheels great discussion.
![]() 08/15/2016 at 20:33 |
|
I’m down with those old-school liveries. And I would be disappointed if you didn’t post something like this haha.
Plus all-jag racing? Heck yeah. I didn’t like this generation of E-type, but man as an open-top racer it looks fantastic
![]() 08/15/2016 at 21:01 |

I’m partial to the Series 3. Mainly because, of the Jags my father had, his ‘74 Series 3 roadster was the most striking, in my opinion. Black with biscuit interior and a 4 speed manual. I’d give anything to have that car back in the family.

Well I’m focusing on 1:64 only for now. Maybe once I grow up, get a job, and get some storage space then some AUTOarts might be in the books...for now, though, it’s TLVs and Norevs for me!
![]() 08/15/2016 at 21:11 |

First off, sorry I didn’t realize you’d been posting there for a bit now... I’ve been a bit absent as of late.
But I totally understand, I’ve more or less stopped collecting anything that way I can have money for the good stuff. I’ll be posting something very special in a week or two I just won off EBay :D
![]() 08/15/2016 at 21:17 |

Haha, awesome! No worries, life gets busy, I’ll be waiting eagerly to see your new finds!
Personally I love the tinier diecasts since companies like TLV provide amazing quality and manufacturers like Welly provide awesome breadth (like the new Volvo XC90 I just got from Kimba!)

Mmmm dat Volvo. I love their design language. I hope welly does an S90 or V90 in the coming year or so :D

Ooooooh, geez, my wallet is running dry just thinking about it! The trouble with Wellies is that they’re around $10+ off eBay but only about $3-4 overseas so they’re so much better if you have connections so perhaps some HWEPs are in order...also, we can’t forget MBX’s Volvo V60 coming this year!
